Two years ago I was busted for procession of child porn. I got 30 days
[=days’] total in jail and two years [=years’] probation. The felony
charges were all dismissed.My probation time is all but up now. While
I know that child porn has asocial stigma to it I feel that it was no
big deal to me. I have to say that I have been on six seperate
[=separate] sex tours into Thailand so it [=if] it is just pictures
then that is pretty laim [=lame] to me. However while in Thailand I
never had any sexual contact with children nor did I see any sexual
contact with children. I have heard that it does occur in Cambodia but
I have never gone there. My days in the workforce are over as I am in
effect retired military and now 52 years old but in good shape.I stay
in good shape from my hobby of cycling and I can spell the work
[=word] "remumbent" and I have bought a new recumbent bicycle since I
have gotten [=since being] arrested and was serving [=served] out my
time on probation. In fact in [=it] is my opinion that the mere
procession [=possession] of child porn should not be acrime by itself
[=in itself] as it gives the law enforcement community too much power
to search the home and seize the computers. This is what happened to
me back in late October of 2005. The wife's nephew who was staying
with us was planning on attempting to blackmail my wife and I [=my
wife and me] but I kicked him out before his plan could unfold. The
nephew was out to get the money the wife had that he concedered
[=considered] his. Unfortunally [=unfortunately] for me he was the one
who reported me to the police so Igot into the news media and the
criminail [=criminal] justice system. Thecriminalization ofthe [=no
“the”] vices like gamabling [=gambling], drugs, sexual activity
between adults has simplyoverloaded our criminal justice system into
something that is closer to acriminal unjust system. During my time in
jail due to overcrowing[=overcrowding] I was housed with men who had
sexually assaulted [=assaulted] children but with me no live child was
involved.
To be in a[=an] overcrowed [=overcrowded] jail was a more serious
crime that just my downloading of child porn pictures. My big mistake
was the storing of the pics on the harddrive insight of the nephew but
I was attempting to get him out of the house without using legal
force. As far as the production of vices ie the distrubution
[=distribution] of drugs,
porn to include child porn etz [=etc.] that could be regulated just
like the
production of alcohol is. While I am against pentratrating
[=penetrating] sex of children below 16years of age the production of
pictures of children under 16 could be regulated by some authority to
ensure the safety of the child and to keep organized crime out. The
numbers
of men who have gotten into legal trouble is over this child porn
issue is
real unfortunate and has caused the prisons and jails to house people
who do notposea [=no “a”] enough threat of children to justifly
[=justify] the actions taken.

In summary the police make the cocain [=cocaine] charge up (or the
nephew could have planted the drug if it ever actually existed) as the
social sigma of drug users along with the social sigma of child porn
justifies what the legal authorities want the general population to
believe. This leads to the building of more jails and prisons,hire
more jail guards and expand the police state that America is becoming
since 9/11.

I think you anglo saxons you are maniacs concerning the human sex
reflex. You can think something in your mind but if it is wrong you
don't do it. you don't act out on the illegal things. People think

While I don't understand the attraction of child pornography, I do
think that authorities shouldn't be allowed willy-nilly to enter one's
abode - pun intended, sorry! So long as one does things in the privacy
of one's home and it does not harm or threaten anyone, I think the
crown/state has no business in the personal affairs of its subjects/
citizens. It's a rather slippery slope.

I don't think Whitehall has any business telling me what one shall or
shan't do in one's bedroom.

The attraction to child porn is mainly fueled by curiousity which is sparked
by widespread news stories in both the print and broadcast media.
In interviews with law enforcement officials it is claimed the child porn is
widely prevelant on the Internet and is "just a mouse click away."
This of course generates a good deal of curiousity and many stumble into
web sites claiming or hinting they have child porn but are really police
sting
operations designed to harvest the next batch of fools for the next major
"pedophile bust."

To All,

Thanks to both Julian K. and to ***@gmail.com for making
their comments. Let me add two points to expand what I feel about this
subject and my general comment on the state of childhood in general.

First to look at any photo of anything and how the mind operates on it is
too complex a question for me as every mind is different and how we think
is such a complex question that I realize that I cannot begin to understand
the
human mind. It is my belief that I have a mind and I know that I am able to
make up my own mind to do what I consider to be in my own best interest. I
do know everything that I do and why I want to do it. How the mind works
is better left to much smarter people than me and I hope they can come out
with their scientific papers and build someday a robot like in the movie
called
"AI". I do not read Psychology Today magazine. I do know that my mind is
a giant vacuum cleaner AND a giant filter. The Internet is like a giant
vacuum
cleaner. You have to keep your mind's filter clean (no drugs or alcohol)
and
open of obstructions (avoid presumed facts). You need to hear different
ideas
from different people and read material written by other experts. There is
a
need to get out and to discuss issues of concern to society and how these
laws
of possession work against the rights of someone and gives the legal
authorities
powers that tilts the wheels of justice in favor of the authorities. A
healthy
person needs to question all assumptions heard in society. These
assumptions
are the following:

1. The material in question documents abuse.
2. The material in question normalizes abuse.
3. The material in question is a record of abuse that will never go away
even if
the perps are caught.
4. Children cannot give meaningful consent to abuse.
5. Even ownership of such material provides a market for the material in
question.

I believe that all five assumptions above are all false.


Second I most certainly oppose child abuse. Child abuse is not a good thing
for either the child or the abuser. Never would I want to see a child
suffer any sort
of physical pain or mental suffering. Thus when I state my opinion that
possession
of child porn should be legal under certain restrictions like a home without
children
present and the operator of the computer in no contact with children (both
of these
were in effect at the time of my arrest). The production side most
certainly needs
to be regulated. Kentucky regulates the production of bourbon but outlaws
the
possession of alcohol if you are operating a vehicle or machinery. Laws
like that
make sense to me as someone should not be allowed to place innocent lives in
danger.
Thus production of child porn could be regulated in a way which would make
the
safety of the child absolute and the parent or child's representative
responsible for
the child's protection with the proceeds of the money received for the
child. It
would be easy to keep organized crime element out of the production if it
was
regulated by the state and or federal level. I see at the start of adult
porn DVD's
that the DVD was produced according to some federal laws and that the ages
of the people are on file someplace. The same could be done with production
of child porn except instead of the ages you would give the name of the
person
responsible for the well being of the child and having the child check out
by medical
professionals to look out for abuse or mental anguish. No penetration of
children
allowed as only poses would be what would be available. The child would
need a
state issued permit which would be given out under conditions mandated by
the
state and or federal authorities. Money earned would be held till the child
gets
18. No child under seven years allowed. Taxes would be collected to help
balance the budget that has taken beaten in recent years.

Finally in general I want to state my comments about the whole subject of
child
porn and its use as a "hot button issue" to give the authorities more and
more
power to control our access to information. My mind tells me that the
authorities
are using the child porn situation as a vehicle to limit what we can access
on the
Internet. The media (local TV and local print) tells us what they want us
to
know but I know much news if either not reported or reported falsely. I
have
heard that in Kentucky child neglect is much bigger than the actual cased of
abuse. Most abuse are by the parents and relatives and not by anyone else.
This decimalization of the possession of child porn and the regulation of
its
production would be the way to go in my opinion to deflate the ever
increasing power of the State over the Individual. You are right Julian
that
the idea of a man's home is his castle. Keep the police away from my pc
unless I have used it to threaten someone or to plan something like a crime
covered by other laws (terrorism). There is a need to deflate the power
of the National Center of Abused and Exploited Children. I have to admit
that I have no children and will take active means not to bring about human
life in this world. My experience with children as a adult is very nil. It
does
seem to me from looking at children from where I see them (the parks) that
they are very controlled and "under the thumb" so some authority figure.
I remember as a child I liked to get AWAY from my parents and teachers
as most as I could. I had no computer then and no ham radio but I rode
my bike around the neighborhood under no restrictions. I never heard of
being raped or kidnapped as a child and I played in the woods when I
lived in the country and went to the park in the city. Today I do not see
the children playing like they used to when I was a child. Thus I believe
the children are being groomed to be controlled by authority figures in the
future. It is my belief that a police state is coming and the National
Center
of Abused and Exploited Children and its media blitz are just the first
step.
