Discussion:
Image hosting under TOR and without Javascript
(too old to reply)

I am using the Tor standard distribution package, including Noscript.

I tried to upload material to
https://www.imgur.com

"If you're seeing this message, that means JavaScript has been disabled on
your browser, please enable JS to make Imgur work."

What is the worst that Javascript could do in revealing identity, if I set
Noscript to allow it?

(OK, "austria" clarified... IP addresses including RFC1918 (Not so bad), your
provider
public IP (This is pretty bad), local machine name (Maybe YOUR
name?), your OS & version, user profile name, WI-FI SSID, VPN
provider name, VPN exit IP for starters........... no JS for me, !!)

Is there something better for image storing? Used to use
http://www.freeimagehosting.net
which didn't need Javascript but now it is permanently "Temporarily Offline".

Looks nice. I use 9.0.4 too.

But you must have Javascript running. Didn't you know?

Both
https://imgbb.com
https://imgbb.com/noscript
produce
"JavaScript and Cookies need to be supported in order to use the site."

When I allow imgbb.com and simgbb.com to run Javascript, the site works
fine, uploads like a dream.

So, I hope you are not worried you have been leaking lots of
information as you have Javascript running

I have not tried tails yet but I will later.
What do you mean, tails?

SOMEONE SUGGESTED SENDSPACE

But..
https://www.sendspace.com
produces
"Warning! No javascript available! Your browser does not support
JavaScript or JavaScript is disabled. You must enable JavaScript or use
a JavaScript supported browser for this site to function correctly."
If you still try to upload, then
"An error occurred while processing the uploaded file. (0)"

And finally

gives the welcoming message:
"Because JavaScript is for people who want to get hacked ¯\_(?)_/¯"
but as soon as you Browse, select a small image file and click Upload,
you get
JSON
status "error"
message "Uploading disabled"

So no further ahead.

I just uploaded a file via Tor using sendspace with no problem.
https://www.sendspace.com/file/w2k396
Downloading it with Tor is another matter though, due to the captcha.
With Firefox private browsing mode, it downloads just fine.

I'd worry more about the trojans and malware that Tor sends with it's
"updates". See other posts here about that. Also, the processes that
cannot be terminated under tor. You're worried about privacy? Find a good
VPN, do not use tor.

So far, there have been two suggestions for other sites which work
via TOR. But both require JavaScript, which the OP specifically said
he wanted to avoid.

And, I'm sorry if I break the thread, but I won't post to newsgroups
I don't read, so I'm replying to just this one.
