I2P addresses are similar to Tor .onion addresses, i.e. they are resolved
by I2P network software and cannot be (easily) accessed from "normal"
Internet.

Here you can read about I2P and download software:

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I2P>
<https://geti2p.net>
<https://geti2p.org>

If you really wish to access I2P site from outside Internet, you can use
one of gateways (but I wouldn't recommend it for various reasons):

<http://i2pwiki.onion.ly/index.php?title=Eepsite/Services#Search_Engines>

All major public addressbooks (stats.i2p, inr.i2p, etc.) should have it
since about 2016.

No, you don't have to. You probably thinking of Freenet, where people
provide some of their local storage to store random chunks of encrypted
data. In case of I2P, however, you'll be passing encrypted traffic of other
people, same as if you were running Tor relay. In I2P network everyone is a
relay. It's different than running Tor exit node though, because all I2P
traffic is encrypted end-to-end, and you don't have access to keys.

You mean blacklisted like on some websites or Usenet servers that were
previously abused by someone using Tor? Short answer: no.

Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.redacted.com/" on this
server.
Reference #18.7d3d2b17.redacted
I've never been able to access this site via Tor.
So, would running an I2P node would have my IP banned like the above?
No.

This question is addressed several times on I2P website (in FAQ, in Tor vs.
I2P comparison, etc.)

It seem you do not understood I2P purpose. It is not proxy like Tor, but
overlay network. Try to read something about I2P.

So what if it is queued for 4-5 minutes? Nothing unusual, nothing to

I am still trying to learn i2p. It is rather difficult to
understand. What exactly would I do to connect to your i2p nntp?
Would I simply put http://127.0.0.1:52119 in the address bar with the

I did the telnet 127.0.0.1 52119 from my W7 machine, but get
Connecting To 127.0.0.1...Could not open connection to the host, on port
Connect failed
netstat -anlp | grep 52119
will return something like "tcp LISTEN i2pd"

I am still trying to learn i2p. It is rather difficult to understand.
You will learn i2p alone.

Ok, I installed ip2d. Can you tell me how to connect to news.neodome.i2p?
Can you both receive and send post? Thanks
Modify your tunnels.conf file.
[neodome]
type = client
address = 127.0.0.1
port = 52119
destination = trhwcnygfkeqjj6g4xhmrdp4gsjqsye47lsxshbmwbten4ywt5oq.b32.i2p
destinationport = 119
keys = neodome.dat
Restart i2pd, wait 5 minutes. telnet 127.0.0.1 52119
200 news.neodome.net InterNetNews NNRP server INN 2.6.0 ready (posting ok)
Does i2pd run at startup or is it something you can run when you
want to?

I have to start it on my machine. Usually any program that auto
starts at boot will have an option to stop it from happening. Others
you have to remove the link in the startup folder or go into the
register and delete its autorun record.

i2pd is up but listening on port 52119, apparently no.

C:\>telnet 127.0.0.1 52119
Connecting To 127.0.0.1...Could not open connection to the host, on
port 52119:
Connect failed

It's unfortunate that I can't figure out how to get to his nntp site.
Then I would run an i2p node, but have no incentive to run one now,
having no use for i2p.

Thank. I tried the support forum, but I couldn't connect to it
either.
